Budget Billing

WHAT IS BUDGET BILLING:

The City of Seaford offers an Electric Budget Program.  Budget Billing is defined as the pre-determined electric billing amount charged starting with May’s bill for April’s consumption.  This is program is only available to residential electrical customers.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE
:

A customer is eligible for the program if:

They have twelve (12) months of account history with the City of Seaford.
Their account is at a zero balance or will be at the start of the program.
They must have a history of Good Credit with the City of Seaford.
They are in adherence of the Good Standing Policy.

HOW IS MY BUDGET BILL CALCULATED:

The monthly budgeted amount is calculated by dividing the total of your past twelve (12) months of electric bills by (10).  It is then rounded up to the nearest 5-dollar increment.

The final month (April) could be higher or lower than the monthly budgeted amount and must be paid in full in order for the account to roll over into the next year's budget program.

Refunds for over payments will not be paid out, unless the customer has moved from our lines.

HOW DO I GET REMOVED FROM PROGRAM:

You must call and request to be removed from the program.

If you have a missed or returned payment, you will be removed from the program.
